Carlos Díaz Scharff

He is a qualified lawyer and expert in companies, investment mechanisms and international trade transactions under the Peru-European Union Free Trade Agreement.

He took his first professional steps in the Peruvian judiciary within the framework of the Judiciary and in his work at a law firm specialising in maritime, customs and naval law. Years later, he ventured into the sphere of a Swiss multinational company, working in activities related to the verification and inspection of Peruvian international trade operations. The experience he gained in Lisbon over a period of around 20 years, through the management of an SME, the administration of a non-profit organisation and the provision of professional services to Portuguese judicial bodies, gave him a thorough and objective understanding of the reality of the Portuguese economy and business fabric.

Since registering as a Lawyer in Madrid and thanks to the experience gained as a member of the Luxembourg Bar Association (Ordre des Avocats du Barreau de Luxembourg), he has focused his attention and vocation on matters related to investment, immigration and international trade.

He porsued his doctoral studies in European Studies at the Ortega y Gasset University Institute, an institution affiliated with the Complutense University of Madrid. He holds a Master’s degree in European Union Law from the Complutense University of Madrid. He also holds a postgraduate degree in Export Strategies from the University of Lisbon. He holds an LL.M in Spanish Law from the University of Valladolid and a Diploma in Advanced Occupational Health and Safety from the University of Évora. He obtained his Law Degree from the University of Valladolid and the University of San Martin de Porres.

He has also participated in various training courses on second chance law, companies, tax law, civil procedural law, juvenile law, compliance (Madrid Bar Association), lawyer liability and the prevention of money laundering (Luxembourg Bar Association) and on international trade and European Union FTAs.

He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association.
